Fairlight was one of my favourite games back then. Must dig out my emulator and give it a spin.
ReplyDeleteFairlight's music sticks in my mind but I wasn't fond of the game; it was one of those lazy Spectrum ports that ran like a dead dog on the C64. I have much fonder memories of Nosferatu, which was the same sort of thing but not a dungeon crawler.
ReplyDeleteI've never played any of these games. :( We didn't have a computer until the late 90s.

ReplyDeleteHey charles, grab yourself a ZX spectrum emulator and head on over to World of Spectrum for some downloads - although I think Knight Lore and Nightshade might be unavailable. I never played Fairlight BitD. None of the games are strictly a "dungeon crawl", except Heroquest. The modular architecture in Nightshade is amazing tho.
ReplyDeleteSpent many hours on knightlore with my Amstrad cpc6128 when i was a kid... 30 years ago. Great remembers, despite the 2 colours environment, the game was very fun and i loved the way you turned into a werewolf when the moon was full.
