    Well!
    I followed Ghost Dance around quite a lot and never before noticed the similarities!
    Do the dates tie in? The first blonde shot is clearly GD circa 1987/8 but I have a feeling the art is earlier.

      Good on yah! I only came across Skeletal Family / Ghost Dance quite recently. I shall raid the morguefile in interests of historical accuracy:

      Well, it's not quite a deathhawk but kind of. There is documentation that AMH had the same cut in July 1986 - the same month as Amazona Gothique was used as the White Dwarf cover image.

      Adeptus Sororitas / Sisters of Battle. Not sure on the first publication date, certainly 1990s. Was used as the cover of the 1997 Sisters of Battle codex.

      AMH had the Debbie Harry cut circa 1988.

      In early GD days (86), AMH still had red hair, but it was usually back-combed like the 'boy' photo. It's compelling evidence that JB was a fan though.
      The Debbie Harry cut was followed by a cropped dark look with a headscarf just before they split in 89.
      Nice bit of research, Zhu.
      (Btw, I'm prepping for my first ever game of Warhammer this week. 1st edition using Wars of the Roses figures.)

    That Nazi-esque BOY logo that all the girls seemed to be wearing on their t-shirts last year (presumably while totally oblivious as to what it looked like) is much older than I thought then?

      They probably thought they looked like Rihanna rather than a platoon of female Imperial Guard recruits or a neo-nazi cult, or a rabid fan of obscure 80s goth band. But yeah Boy London have been around since the 70s, recently got a reboot. Nice bag.

      Then again, who knows? Perhaps "I like your t-shirt, would you like to see my collection of codex-scheme painted Death Korps of Krieg miniatures" is what passes for a pickup line with the yoof these days.

    Your post reminded me of the time that I painted the old Citadel manticore, and someone pointed out to me that it resembled Dee Snider from Twisted Sister.

      It's all about being in the wrong place at the wrong time ;-)

      As you well know, Bob Olley did Citadels harpies by Bob Olley were caricatures of Thatcher, Regan and Heseltine, Jes Goodwins Tanglebones is undoubtedly Richard O'Brien as Riff Raff from the Rocky Horror Picture Show, so why not Dee Snider the manticore!
